END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT

Licence agreement

Written to be read. Where a clause could be shorter without losing its meaning, it is.

Version 1.1 · 9 October 2026 · Velocity Bridge 0.9.x · Diffy 1.0 · Diffy Pro 1.0

This agreement is between you and RedIcon, a sole proprietorship operated by Shahzad Alvi in Islamabad, Pakistan ("we", "us"). It covers our desktop applications Velocity Bridge, Diffy and Diffy Pro (each, "the Software"). Installing or using any of them means you accept it.

Most of this agreement applies to all three. Where a clause applies to only one of them, it says so.

1. What you get

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable licence to install and use the Software. You may install it on every device you personally use, including at work, and you may use it for commercial purposes — that is what it is for.

You are licensing the software, not buying it. We keep all copyright and other intellectual property in it.

2. Beta status, and your files

Velocity Bridge version 0.9.x is a public beta. It is complete and we use it ourselves, but it has not been through a full release cycle, and some behaviour may change before 1.0.

The Software writes to, deletes from and synchronises directories on your computer and on servers you control. Keep backups. Treat it as you would any deployment tool: verify what a sync or a delete is going to do before you confirm it.

Diffy and Diffy Pro are full 1.0 releases. They only change a file when you edit it and choose Save or Save As, or — in Diffy Pro — when you merge changes and save the result. Review what you are about to save, and keep backups or version control for files that matter.

3. What you may not do

4. Price, and what happens later

Velocity Bridge

Velocity Bridge 0.9.x is free. There is nothing to pay and no licence key.

Later versions are expected to add optional paid features. Anything that is free in the version you have installed stays free in that version, permanently — we will not remove a feature you already have and charge you for it back. Paid features will be new capabilities, offered as a separate purchase, and the free tier will continue to exist.

Diffy and Diffy Pro

Diffy is free. It is a complete file-comparison tool, not a trial, and it does not expire. Some features are marked as Pro inside Diffy; choosing one explains what it does and offers a link to Diffy Pro. Nothing is charged from within Diffy.

Diffy Pro is a separate, paid application sold through the Microsoft Store as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no licence key: your licence is tied to the Microsoft account you bought it with, and you may install it on the devices the Microsoft Store allows for that account. Prices are set in the Store and may change, including at the end of an introductory or launch price; a change never affects a copy you have already bought.

The same promise applies: a feature that is free in the version of Diffy you have installed stays free in that version, and updates to Diffy Pro you have bought are included at no extra charge for the 1.x series.

Refunds for Diffy Pro are handled by Microsoft, which took the payment. See the refund policy.

5. Distribution and updates

The Software is distributed through the Microsoft Store, which handles installation, payment for paid apps, and updates. Your use of the Store is governed by Microsoft's own terms, which we do not control. Where those terms conflict with this agreement for Store-delivered copies, Microsoft's terms prevail as between you and Microsoft.

We are under no obligation to provide updates, support or new versions, though we intend to.

6. Privacy

None of the applications collects anything or sends us anything. Diffy and Diffy Pro open a web page only when you ask them to, such as the documentation or the Diffy Pro Store page. See the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

7. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or of consumer guarantees. Where that is so, this clause applies only to the extent permitted, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Software — even if we were told such damage was possible.

Our total liability under this agreement will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Software in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Third-party components

The Software includes open-source components under their own licences, which permit this use. Those licences govern those components; this agreement governs everything else, and nothing in this agreement limits the rights those licences give you.

Diffy and Diffy Pro are built with Qt for Python (PySide6) and the Qt libraries, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3. These libraries are installed as separate files and loaded at run time. You may replace them with a compatible version, including one you have modified, and you may reverse engineer the application to the extent needed to debug such a modification. Diffy's own code remains under this agreement. The full list of components, with their licence texts and where to get their source code, is published at redicon.pk/open-source/diffy, linked from About → Open-source licences inside the app, and also installed with the app in its licenses folder.

For Velocity Bridge, or for the exact source code of the open-source components shipped with any of our applications, email support@redicon.pk.

10. Ending the licence

You may stop at any time by uninstalling. This licence ends automatically if you breach it materially and do not fix the breach within 30 days of us telling you about it. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 11 survive.

11. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Islamabad have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the protection of your local courts, this clause does not take that away.

12. General

If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of it. This agreement, with the privacy policy and the refund policy, is the whole agreement between us about the Software. We may update it for new versions; the version in force is the one published here when you install.
